GK Neiroklīnika offers examinations of blood vessels of the head and neck by using an internationally recognised and modern method – duplex scanning or Doppler ultrasonography (DUPLEX), which is three-dimensional colour-coded ultrasound scanning. The examination is performed by a highly qualified neurologists. A consultation of a neurologist may be received together with the examination.
The use of higher resolution equipment during ultrasound examination enables the detection of nerve impairment, its level and cause. One of the main advantages of the method is the ability of the specialist to constantly communicate with the patient by asking them, for instance, to bend their fingers or to bend their hand at the wrist joint, which helps to make a precise evaluation of the nerve risk positions, where the nerves are most commonly irritated – compressed or stretched.
USG examination is important in the event of pain, inflammation and trauma. Visualisation and detection of specific, minor and invisible tissue damage and changes thereof is possible by means of ultrasound examination. USG is a harmless examination, since it uses ultrasound — high frequency sound waves, which is why USG may be performed on pregnant women as well. The ultrasound examination is performed with a top-class diagnostic USG device, which ensures the opportunities for precise and high-quality diagnostics.
